Rektron SQC
Rektron SQC is a complete platform for statistical quality control. The system provides accumulative tools for everything between measure data collection, process control and analysis. Measure data can be acquired in many ways, both manual and automatic. Business ratios for the process quality are rendered during ongoing process and control signals can guide automated production lines. Relevant information can afterwards easily be extracted from the data volume for reports and analysis.
The requirements on Rektron SQC are high. In order to function at its optimum in as different environments as incoming inspection within pharmaceutical industry and automated production lines in the manufacturing industry, the platform has been made entirely modularized and configurable. Adaptations are easily made in order to get the most out of every customer's way of work and prerequisites. Rektron SQC has grown as a product during a long period of time and in phase with the development of quality assurance work in the different industrial segments. The system was available as a product as early as in the late 1980s.
Data Collection
Regardless if the goal is to perform a statistical quality analysis on a process or to control an individual detail the first step is to gather measure data of some kind. Depending on the field of activity this collection can be done in numerous ways. E.g. when producing plastic details the plastic moulding machine can send measure data over the network. Within the automotive industry automatic coordinate measurement machines are often used which stores the measurement data in result files. In other manufacturing processes measurements are possibly done manually with handheld gauges on individual details. These and many other possibilities are available to get hold on the data that constitutes the basic resource for quality control.
Process Control
By simplifying the data collection the analysis of the data automatically becomes more difficult. A measure process can easily generate several thousands of measure values per day and if problems in the production process aren’t discovered immediately, then the result will be direct deterioration of the quality and often high costs for the company. Neither analysis afterwards nor human surveillance are durable solutions to the problem. The analysis must be both automatic and immediate so that diverging trends can be acknowledged in time with suitable alarms. Then suitable measures can be taken into effect so that the process is corrected and quality deficiency costs minimized.
Analysis
The advantage with having all the measure data in one place is that it makes it possible to analyze the data afterwards and use it as basis for reports. Rektron SQC provides advanced tools for searches and selections of the data volume, which then can be extracted for printouts or to export data for customer specific analysis, e.g. in Minitab or Microsoft Excel.
Requirements differ
Statistical quality control has many areas of application. Production processes are made safer with statistical process control (SPC) and the quality of the measurement system can be determined with measurement system analysis (MSA). Due to the variation of the areas of application together with differences in work procedures and production environments, the requirements are quite diverse between different companies and business groups. Rektron SQC can be implemented in a number of standard configurations, each and every one adapted for different industries. In addition the system can be expanded with extra functionality and customer specific adjustments to meet the particular customer’s requirements and needs.
